2026.09.02-04  We attended the Japan Society of Civil Engineers National Convention

We participated in the JSCE Annual Meeting held in Hokkaido from September 2nd to 4th.

From our laboratory, presentations were given by Prof. Tateishi, Prof. Shimizu, two Doctoral students (including one working adult student), one alumnus (who graduated with a Master's last year), three M2 students (including one international student), and two M1 students.

For us M1 and M2 students, it was our first time giving an oral presentation at an academic conference, so we were quite nervous beforehand.

However, thanks to our careful preparation, I believe everyone was able to give it their absolute best.

Beyond the experience gained from our own presentations and Q&A sessions, listening to the research of companies, professors, and students from other universities gave us fresh insights.

The entire conference was a fantastic experience.

During our free time, we fully enjoyed our trip by visiting sightseeing spots in Hokkaido and savoring local specialties like fresh seafood, Jingisukan (Hokkaido-style grilled mutton), and soup curry.

Let's use this great experience as motivation to keep working hard on our research!
