Hello, everyone! This is Nakamura, M1 student.
Our laboratory participated in JSBC & ASBC 2026, which took place in Fukui Prefecture from August 25th to 27th.
We entered this year's competition with the goal of winning an award.
I primarily contributed to the structural design, focusing on minimizing the number of members to reduce the overall assembly time.
Despite the short preparation period following the graduate school entrance exams, which limited our practice time, the team successfully completed the assembly in our fastest time ever at the actual event.
It was a truly dependable performance.
However, during the loading test, the bridge began to lean laterally once the full load was applied. Although it withstood the weight for a brief moment, it eventually collapsed.
While this was a highly disappointing outcome, we are determined to strive for a prize next year!
Additionally, since this was my first time collaborating so deeply with the entire laboratory throughout the preparation phase, it served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen our team bonding. It was a very enjoyable experience!
