This is Takeshi, M1.
We participated in the Bridge Competition at Kyoto University on 11,12,13 September!
Last year, we suffered from a lack of know-how as it was the first time in five years that we had participated in the competition, and we ended up with a disappointing result of not being able to construct the bridge within the time limit of 30 minutes.
Therefore, this year we aimed for a bridge with a focus on speed of construction!
The name of the bridge is ‘SGB ~Speed Girder Bridge~’!
As a result, thanks to a lot of practice, we were able to construct the bridge in 18 minutes, less than half of last year's construction time!
However, looking at other universities, there were a few that took less than 10 minutes... We were keenly aware that there were others who were better than us.
Furthermore, the amount of deflection was not within the target deflection of 10 mm, and the result was 22 mm, just short of the disqualification line (25 mm).
It's a shame... I hope to achieve a podium finish next year and onwards!
This bridge competition was a great experience for us, as we were able to interact with students and teachers from various universities.
Thank you very much!
